Have you ever had any issues with tapes breaking?
Fortunately we have never had any issues with tapes breaking on us. Now we realize that some of the tapes we handle are delicate and we do everything we can to ensure there are no issues but we can’t guarantee that they won’t break during the conversion process.
How long do you store my files for?
Depending on which amount of tapes you have converted with us, we will either keep them in our system for 90 days or 1 year. If you prefer us to not use cloud storage, let us know so we can make that happen.
What if my tapes don't have labels on them?
If your tapes don't have labels on them that's no problem. After we convert your tapes and you'd like to apply a label to the files we can update them so you know exactly what's on them.
Do you offer video editing services?
We do! We work with families individually with their budget and goal to deliver a video that they love.
What format are the videos in?
Getting more technical, we convert the tapes into a .mp4 format. This format is one of the most universal formats out there that have been around for a long time and will be for years to come.
How can I move my videos to iCloud?
You can move your videos to iCloud by downloading your files through your Cave Digital account on a computer. From there you can move your files into your Photos app.
How can I move my videos to Google Photos?
You can move your videos to Google Photos by downloading your files through your Cave Digital account on a computer. From there you can open Google Photos and drag and drop them onto the web page to upload them.
What do you do with my videos after my order?
What we do with your videos after your order will depend on if you purchased our cloud storage. If your cloud storage has expired, we have a 30 day grace period where you can purchase again if you'd like and after that grace period we will wipe your files from our system.
How do you handle privacy? What do you see when converting?
We understand that family videos are special and are meant to be private. When we convert the videos we check to ensure that the tape is being converted with the best quality but outside of ensuring the tape quality, we don't view your tapes.
What happens when a tape isn’t recoverable?
Our team will do everything we can to preserve your family memories. When we come across a tape that either has no footage on it or it's clear the conversion didn't make a clean video we will let you know and remove that tape from your invoice.
